  1. Adobe Reader 8 is far too simplified for most seasoned users. I’ve replaced my 8 with FoxIT, a much more intuitive program; you need to be psychic to figure out Reader 8 without spending way too much time with it.

  2. its better to just learn code yourself, and when you get good at it, you can start a business or learn a programming language to creat a program that makes website and sell it or sell your services. And here is a quote from the site, “A VodaHost web hosting account is required in order for you to publish.” welll that sucks!!

  3. I prefer the MX 2004 version even if this don’t include many radical differences

  4. When I install Adobe Reader 8.1.2 it changes all desktop icons and Quick Launch icons to Adobe Reader icons. If I click on any of these icons it runs Adobe Reader. If I uninstall Adobe Reader all desktop icons return to normal. Need assistance with install on Windows Vista operating system. Thanks

  5. Customer service is worse than Time Warner Cable, you get connected to India, people ask you the same stupid questions from a script, then you get transferred to another Indian, and get asked the same stupid questions. After this, you get calls and then they ask you the same stupid questions and runaround, problem will NEVER get resolved. The “answer Forum” is a complete joke ran by a bunch of arrogant jerks.

  6. 2010 and 2011 Acronis suck! The interface is redundant and confusing. After a couple of glitches, I stop using them in our business. The data we have is priceless and I spent to many hours making sure it acutally did a proper backup.

  7. 1- not free (trial version)
2- does not even allow full recovery of one email to see if it actually works.

  8. The only bad things I found that this software has is that it creates a folder for every extension (1 folder for avi, wmv,mp4 etc). Also it exhaust the fan in my laptop so I had to set it down because it was burning me. Other than that no problems.

  9. I dont know what happends on my win8.1 …when using ADW,,,, it gets stuck–saying file do not answer..and i am unable to remove or do anything, I simple had to reset my PC back to original startup settings to get it “normal” again

  10. as an intermediate PC user, it’s too difficult for me to use…as it blocks everything, including playlists, myspace photos, etc., i was not able to get any of them back…and now i’m left with a sh*tload of recovery work to do!

  11. The program file of the free version seemed to get corrupted after a while. I do not know how this is digitally possible, but that’s what happened. This made me very suspicious of the merits of the purchased version.

  12. Free download is not fully functional as claimed. It is actually crippled demo ware. Indexes Max 10,000 files. Google’s Free Desktop does everything this claims On Google Desktop I’ve indexed over 500,000 files across removable drives and CD’s.

  13. Use of the phrase, “Your computer might contain malware.” This is a veiled attempt at scaring the user into buying the PAID version. If it had malware on it, what was the purpose of the line item that says “Malware protection active”? Contradictory!

  14. Where to begin! Tech support is off-shore in India and is ONLY there. There is no escalation, no additional help and if you call, expect to be on the phone for 2-3 hours EACH TIME. The software is really buggy and will often stop responding. It also will hang your server if you try to reboot it, making maintenance of my servers even harder. You cannot use the VMWare backup if you use anything other than standard VMWare stuff – I am using HP VSAN and I have to back up each server individually – if I wanted to do that, I would have stuck with BackupExec. You cannot create a simultaneous multi-location backup, even though they say you can. I have two places I want to back stuff up – to a DAS on my backup server and a portable hard drive for off-site DR. If I want this, I have to create two completely separate backups and hit my network twice to get it done, even though I was led to believe otherwise that it allowed for multi-location backups. It just means you can span your backup. Sigh.

  15. your comment under disadvantages is not correct. by disabling it in the start menu of xp or vista it will not run unless you start it manually. it will then run in the task bar untill you close it

  16. Documents I could previously open now flag ‘acces denied’ including ones I created myself.

  17. Utilises an enormous amount of memory space; slow and sluggish. When integrated with MS Explorer, it requires repeated attempts to open a .pdf file
